Jack's Enclave - U.S., World Powers, Reach Temporary Nuclear Deal With Iran
Return To Archive

I find myself having to be careful here. Few distrust Iran more than I. Few hold President Obama in lower regard than I. As for Secretary Kerry, as I wrote in 2012, "The man is not fit to be Secretary of Latrines, let alone Secretary of State." As a consequence I tend to automatically dismiss this deal as another Obama administration display of incompetence. Just another attempt at a signature accomplishment and damn the consequences.

So I took a bit of time and reviewed Iran's history of compliance with U.N. resolutions and international nuclear agreements as well as President Obama's track record in foreign affairs. I read articles praising the deal and articles condemning the deal. I read the Fact Sheet at whitehouse.gov. After review and careful consideration I came to the conclusion; "This deal is another Obama administration display of incompetence. Just another attempt at a signature accomplishment and damn the consequences."

And then came the following headlines:

"Kerry: Nuke deal doesn't give Iran right to enrich;   Iran: World recognized our right to enrich"
"Iran Says US Misrepresents Nuclear Deal"
"Iran says to continue building at Arak nuclear site despite deal"

My final conclusion. Anything the Obama administration touches ends up "FUBAR".
