12/21/2012 huffingtonpost.com: John Kerry Secretary Of State Nomination Imminent
For his combat service in Viet Nam he is a brother. For his testimony before the United States Senate, Committee on Foreign Relations in 1971 he is a traitor. The latter trumps the former. The man is not fit to be Secretary of Latrines, let alone Secretary of State.

Column by Donald Kaul
"Then I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control."
Idiot. Then we would have to outlaw Chevy pickups for being instruments of torture.

12/12/2012 foxnews.com: Teachers' union abandons 26,000 Michigan school children
Come-on Fox. This looks more like a huffingtonpost.com headline. It conjures up images of teachers abandoning children in a forsaken wilderness when in reality teachers were prompted by the union to call in "sick" to protest right-to-work legislation.

12/10/2012 dailykos.com: Obama - Michigan anti-union law offers 'the right to work for less money'
Typical President Obama. In the absence of any rational argument in support of his position he resorts to emotional appeal. Just wind 'em up and turn 'em loose.

"There ought to be a quid pro quo," said Councilwoman JoAnn Watson, according to My Fox Detroit." "After the election of Jimmy Carter, the honorable Coleman Alexander Young, he went to Washington, D.C., and came home with some bacon," Watson said. "That's what you do," Watson said.
This is one of the major reasons President Obama was re-elected. Not for his leadership skills, his domestic or foreign policy successes or his economic prowess. But because in exchange for their vote his supporters felt he would owe them.

12/03/2012 cnsnews.com: Jackson Lee: 'Who Wants to Make a Fuss About Social Security When It's Solvent?'
By strict definition, "able to pay all legal debts", she is correct. What she fails to mention is that the program ran deficits in 2010 and 2011 and the federal government needed to increase the federal debt by borrowing money in the market to pay Social Security obligations. It's like using one credit card to make the payment on another credit card, continuing to charge items, and when your credit limits are reached gettng increased limits on both cards. It is, indeed, a house of cards.

"Do you support President Obama having the power to unilaterally increase the debt limit as Secretary Geithner proposed?" asked a reporter. "Yes," Pelosi answered shortly.
Right! And I'm going to give my college bound grandson a debit card to my checking account when he leaves.

11/30/2012 headlinedigest.com: Democratic Congressman: Amend Constitution To Allow Control Of Free Speech.
"We need a constitutional amendment that would allow the legislature to control the so-called free speech rights of corporations," - Rep. Hank Johnson. This from the man who said, "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize", referring to the Marine Corps build up on Guam. Representative Johnson, keep your hands off the Bill Of Rights.

11/29/2012 thehill.com: Reid: I don't understand Boehner's brain.
Really? That's your argument in support of the administration's fiscal plan? Nevada, I love ya. But I'll never understand how you could have re-elected this man to represent your state in the U.S. Senate.
