Jack's Enclave - Why I Cannot For President Obama - Short List
Return To Archive

U.S. Real gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 1.3 percent in the second quarter of 2012. For moderate, sustainable growth this needs to be at 3 percent without quantitative easing or stimulus packages.

In September, 2012 the unemployment rate in the United States was 7.8 percent. The general consensus among economists seems to be a rate between 5 and 6 percent would be a good indication the economy is doing well. We're not even close.

The national debt has grown $5 trillion in four years. It now stands at $16 trillion. This debt level will eventually lead to:
        Higher Taxes
        Higher Interest Rates
        Fewer Jobs
        Significantly slower economic growth
        Higher rates of inflation.
President Obama has shown no inclination to even acknowledge this problem, let alone do something about it.

Foreign Policy. The Middle East is in turmoil. The world's image of America as a positive influence continues to decline. President Obama fails to identify and defend America's vital interests abroad. To those intent on doing America harm President Obama has one policy; appeasement. And appeasement only emboldens those that identify themselves as America's enemies.

Abuse of Executive Powers: Executive Orders / Recess Appointments / Agency Directives And Empowerments. While President Obama's use of executive power is not unprecedented compared with previous presidents, his indifference to the US Constitution is. Following are but three examples:

President Obama's Executive Order not to deport young illegal immigrants instructs law enforcement not to enforce the law. Article 2 section 3 of the constitution states, "(the President) shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed..."

The appointment of Richard Cordray as Director of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. First, Cordray's appointment had already been rejected by the Senate. Second, the appointment violated Article 2 of the Constitution. "The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate." Not only did the vacancy not occur during a recess, the Senate was technically still in session.

February 23, 2011: Statement of the Attorney General:
"The President has also concluded that Section 3 of DOMA, as applied to legally married same-sex couples, fails to meet that standard and is therefore unconstitutional. Given that conclusion, the President has instructed the Department not to defend the statute in such cases." Again; Article 2 Section 3 of the Constitution states, "(the President) shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed..."

Simply because he disagrees with a law President Obama has pursued a dangerous change in the powers of his office that disregards the Constitution's careful separation of power between the branches of the federal government. Obama's orders have pushed the executive power beyond all constitutional limits.

And on and on and on: social issues, education, energy, national defense, dividing America along every line imaginable, ..... JACK! Stop the rant!
