At the top of my main page I state "... in a nation that is increasingly foreign to me." Following are some examples of why I feel this way. Should you be puzzled as to why I consider these incidents absurd, please, do not have childern. There are already too many of you in the gene pool.

A woman is facing charges in court for violating the fair housing laws after she places an ad on her church bulliten board saying "I'm looking for a Christian roommate." Bureaucrats pushing the case say it is a clear case of "an illegal preference".

County Presiding Commissioner ousted because of a 1995 Class C felony of second-degree assault after he hit someone who spat on his wife.

After being choked and having his gloves stolen, a 7 year old punches another boy in the groin. The 7 year old is now being investigated for sexual harassment. School officials say they consider it sexual assault.

A preschooler was fed chicken nuggets for lunch because a state worker felt that her homemade lunch, which consisted of a turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, apple juice and potato chips, did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines. The mother of the preschooler was also charged $1.25 for the cafeteria tray.

A state panel advising New York Governor Andrew Cuomo wants taxpayers to foot the bill for transgender residents to get "sexual reassignment surgery," allowing them to change their physical characteristics from a man to a woman or woman to man.

A 9-year-old North Carolina boy was suspended for calling a teacher "cute." The boy's mother said the principal of the school called her after the incident to say the comment was a form of "sexual harassment."

A New Hampshire man who fired his handgun into the ground to scare an alleged burglar he caught crawling out of a neighbor's window is now facing a felony charge. Police made two arrests. The burglar was charged with two counts of burglary and drug possession. The man who fired the gun into the ground is scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of reckless conduct, which could potentially land him a sentence similar to the one the burglar faces.

A New York City principal has prevented students from singing "God Bless The USA" at their moving-up ceremony. In explanation the principal was quoted as saying "We don't want to offend other cultures."
